If you don’t like the look of traditional braces, or if you don’t want to commit to the time and discomfort of wearing them for years, Invisalign® invisible braces might be right for you.
In Mountain View, Drs. Suzanna and Trinh Lee are accredited cosmetic dentists and certified Invisalign providers.
The Invisalign Process

Invisalign aligners are clear
You’ll receive a consultation and a complete examination to determine if Invisalign invisible braces are right for you. Pictures, x-rays and impressions of your teeth will be taken. The results will be sent to the Invisalign lab to make a series of custom plastic aligners for your teeth.
Your dentist will give you the aligners to snap on your teeth. As you wear the aligners, they will gradually and gently reposition your teeth. Every two weeks, you will wear a new set of aligners that will move your teeth to the next position. You’ll visit our office approximately every four to six weeks, so the dentist can monitor your progress and make any needed adjustments.
After you’ve worn all of the aligners, you teeth will be straightened. The treatment lasts about one year.
Advantages of Invisalign
- The aligners are invisible. People won’t be able to tell that you’re wearing them.
- Unlike traditional braces, they are comfortable. There is no wire to irritate your cheeks, lips or tongue.
- You can take them out when you eat and when you brush and floss your teeth, so the risks of tooth decay are decreased when compared with traditional braces.
- They straighten your teeth in six months to a year—half the time of traditional braces.
- The movement of your teeth is more precise than it is with traditional braces.
Disadvantages of Invisalign
- They are more expensive than traditional braces.
- Because they are removable, patients—particularly teenagers—must be diligent in remembering to wear them for 20-22 hours each day.
